FAQ

Stables Montessori?

Yes, we’re delighted to offer 20 hours ECE! As a government-
approved centre, we provide funding for children aged 3 to 6 years to attend up to 20 hours a
week of our wonderful ECE program. This funding covers up to six hours a day in approved
programs.

Our fees cover not just our exceptional, personalized care and early learning, but also tasty
and nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day. We want to make sure your little one
stays well-nourished and happy!

Absolutely! Each of our preschools has a special program designed to build a strong
foundation for your child’s transition to school. We focus on nurturing independence and
essential skills so your child can start school feeling confident and prepared.

Clothing: Please provide a sunhat for sunny days and gumboots for winter. These should be
named and kept at the centre.

Sunscreen: We provide sunscreen, but if your child has sensitive skin, you’re welcome to
bring a suitable sunscreen for them.

Documents: We need a copy of your child’s Certificate of Immunisation and Birth
Certificate. Please bring these on your first day with us.

Medicines: If your child needs medication, please give it directly to a staff member along
with any necessary instructions. The medicine must be clearly labelled and prescribed by a
doctor. We cannot administer non-prescribed medicines.

Our centre welcomes children from birth through to school age. We have tailored settling
processes to ensure a smooth and happy transition at every stage.

Our centres are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with the exception of the Heathcote Valley preschool, which is open from 7.30am to 6pm.  We’re closed on weekends and public holidays. We invite all prospective parents to visit us and take a tour of the centre. Reach out today to schedule your visit!

Our in-house cook prepares delicious and nutritious meals and snacks to keep your child
energized and focused on learning. We clearly list these meals in the reception of the centre,
so you can see what’s on the menu!

Yes, we offer nap and quiet times for toddlers in assigned beds. For nursery children, we
follow your home sleeping patterns and encourage you to bring a comfort item, like a blanket
or teddy, for rest times.

We recommend getting in touch as soon as possible to secure a spot. We offer center tours
with no obligation, so you can ensure our centre is the perfect fit for your family.

Yes, at least 80% of our teachers are qualified and registered to provide the best care and
education for your child.

Absolutely! We strongly encourage you to visit with your child before their start date. This
helps them build confidence and get familiar with their new environment. If a visit before
their first day isn’t possible, we ask that you stay with them for a short time to ease their
transition.

For illness management, we follow the guidelines from the Canterbury District Health Board.
We have a 48-hour exclusion period for vomiting and diarrhoea and ask that you keep your
child at home if they show any symptoms of illness. If you’re unsure please contact our
Centre Manager.
